I am grateful!!!!

Today was Day 28 of The Secret. If you missed my most recent Facebook Live or previous posts, The Secret is a book that walks you through different gratitude practices every single day for 28 days. You can pick up your own copy here. Here is that Facebook Live if you wanted to watch it: After I got home from Hawaii, I decided I would start swimming again. I ordered a swimsuit and found a local pool. I went twice, by…

Battle Creek Falls

Battle Creek Falls

We decided to go down South a little to close to American Fork Canyon and check out Battle Creek Falls. We love the book 60 Hikes Within 60 Miles of Salt Lake City and Battle Creek Falls was rated as the #1 waterfall in the book. In hindsight, I’m not sure I agree with that but it still was really cool.   Currently reading: “Happy Pocket Full of Money” by David Cameron Gikandi and “The Secret” by Rhonda Byrne Currently listening to:…

Sunsets in Utah

Sunsets in Utah

I am basically a fanatic about getting 10,000 steps a day. I use a FitBit and made it my goal for the year to hit 10,000 steps everyday, allowing for only 12 missed days throughout the year. We love walking to Liberty Park which is pretty close to our house. With the sun setting in the 4 o’clock hour… it’s pretty easy to catch the sunset. Today it was incredible.

Lake Blanche Hike

Lake Blanche Hike

This Lake Blanche hike has been a longgggg time coming. It’s always a tough call about hiking in the Cottonwood Canyons. The Cottonwood Canyons are in the watershed area which means no dogs. Since Dex likes hiking so much it’s always a bummer when we can’t take him. However, we heard that Lake Blanche was an awesome view and we just had to check it out. It’s also a hike that’s rated as hard/difficult with about 3,000 feet of elevation…

Night Hiking

Night Hiking

My friend Melissa and I decided to check out The Living Room hike in the evening after work and we made it to the top just in time to catch the end of the sunset. It was really nice and relaxing and great to catch up with her. The sunset is over the Oquirrh mountains on the other side of the Salt Lake Valley.   Currently reading: “Happy Pocket Full of Money” by David Cameron Gikandi and “The Secret” by Rhonda…

Quick Trip to Chicago

Quick Trip to Chicago

We had a really enjoyable trip to Chicago this past weekend. We tried to go over the past few months and the timing/flights never worked out but we finally made it. My dad was already there for a work-related trip so that made it even better. Most importantly, the reason why we wanted to go to Chicago was because of the pizza. So. Much. Nom. Personally, I like Gino’s East more than Lou Malnati’s but we visited both. Here are…

A weekend of relaxing…

A weekend of relaxing…

It’s not every weekend that Austin is available. He wasn’t on call or rounding in the morning or coming off of a 24 hour shift. The best part – it also happened to be our anniversary weekend (dating not wedding). We like to celebrate 🙂 We spent Friday night at Top Golf which was our first time ever there. I am terrible at golf and haven’t hit balls since I was like 7. BUT Top Golf was FUN…and I got…

Pushing my comfort zone

Pushing my comfort zone

I was hanging out with some pretty great people about a week ago at a mastermind. One of the things that I discovered while I was there was that I was not challenging myself regularly. As a perpetual student of personal development, I firmly believe that if you aren’t growing, you’re dying. ***Side note: if you have not yet read “You are a Badass” by Jen Sincero, get on it.. it’s certainly one of my top 3 books and it’s especially good…
