Vulnerable post alert. I am one of those people who sweat a lot. Whether I am being active or just hanging out, I usually sweat quite a bit. It is something that has been going on since I was a kid. I remember asking my mom for deodorant way earlier than the usual age. As I was young, she was hesitant. So I got to do a “one armpit test” of wearing deodorant on one underarm. for the day. The “one armpit test” determined I definitely needed deodorant and antiperspirant immediately. Needless to say I have been wearing deodorant ever since.

Finding Sweatblock has helped with my confidence.

My Deodorant Journey

Just because I started wearing deodorant and antiperspirant early does not mean it fixed all of my problems. Originally, I just used my mom’s brand of deodorant and I switched a few times once I realized it was not really working. Then I moved to prescription strength antiperspirant (actually filled in the pharmacy, not the stuff you can buy over the counter) and deodorant in middle school.

Even with these two options I still had problems with sweating. People who sweat a lot know what I am talking about… you don’t want to raise your hand in class, you’re careful with your arm gestures during presentations, and you know the clothing you need to wear to minimize the obvious sweat marks. Hello black shirts – my favorite.

Between prescription antiperspirant and my regular deodorant, I felt like I finally got my situation under as much control as I possibly could. Several years went by and it wasn’t perfect but it also wasn’t the worst either.

I spent a lot of time investigating how to stop sweating including natural remedies. And as a young adult, natural deodorants and antiperspirants became all the rage. So I thought I would try it. I learned about a detoxing process and that it might take some time for my body to adjust. But my body didn’t adjust.

Instead I got boils on my underarms. I am talking pimpley popping pus in my underarms. Gross right?! I would rather sweat excessively, and that is saying a lot.

But because I read all about the detoxing process, I let this go on for an entire month before giving up and going back to my old combination of my regular deodorant and prescription antiperspirant However to my dismay, my underarms were now so sensitive that they also would not tolerate this combination. Instead my underarms turned red.

Of course this was frustrating.

How I found Sweatblock Deodorant and Antiperspirant

So I started to look into new brands of deodorant and antiperspirant, which is when I found Sweatblock.

Sweatblock has many products to choose from. The two products that I have used the most are their Sweatblock Deodorant + Motion-Activated Antiperspirant and their Sweatblock Antiperspirant Wipes. The Sweatblock Deodorant + Motion-Activated Antiperspirant is my go-to daily option. The Sweatblock Antiperspirant Wipes I use approximately every 7 days.
