If you are looking for an absolutely magical experience for your trip, consider horseback riding in St Lucia. This was the first excursion we did while on the island and it was a highlight of our vacation.
Horseback riding in St Lucia
We took a private horseback riding tour through Sandy Hoofs St Lucia. Sandy Hoofs offers a beginner and more advanced horseback riding option. They also offer group and private tours. Both of us have only been horseback riding a few times before coming on this trip. However, we felt comfortable and safe throughout the excursion.
Sandy Hoofs was able to arrange for a taxi to pick us up from the hotel. The stable location was about a 15 minute ride from the Sandals Grande St Lucian making it the perfect excursion from our hotel. Thinking about excursions such as this one are important in choosing where to stay in St Lucia.
Horseback riding on the beach was everything you could hope for and more. It was a blast. The ride and time spent by the beach was about 2.5 hours. Once we arrived at the beach, I got in the water and then had the opportunity to ride bareback on the beach and into the water on the horse as well. This is obviously not a requirement of your trip – but I was so excited.
What to bring
If you are planning to go horseback riding on the beach, make sure you pack towels, a bathing suit (and change of clothes), sunscreen, water, sunglasses, long pants, and closed-toe shoes. I put the necessary items in a packable backpack that comes with me everywhere that I got off of Amazon for under $20. You can even see the green backpack straps in the picture below.
